Skin Booster FAQs

Are skin boosters the same as fillers?

No. Skin boosters don't add volume or change the shape of your face. They work within the skin to improve hydration, quality and firmness, for natural-looking results.

Which treatment is right for me?

Profhilo suits skin laxity and deep hydration. Plinest polynucleotides suit skin repair, acne scarring and sensitive or sun-damaged skin. NCTF 135HA suits dull, dehydrated or tired-looking skin. Under-eye polynucleotides target dark circles and crepey skin around the eyes. We'll recommend the right option after your consultation.

How many treatments will I need?

Profhilo is usually 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart. Polynucleotides and NCTF are usually a course of 3, spaced 2–4 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments every 6–12 months help keep your results.

Does it hurt?

Treatments involve a few small injections using a very fine needle. Most clients find them very tolerable, and numbing cream can be used for extra comfort.

Is there any downtime?

Small bumps at the injection points usually settle within 24–48 hours, and minor bruising is possible. Avoid make-up for 12–24 hours, and avoid exercise, alcohol and saunas for 24–48 hours.

When will I see results?

Many clients notice better hydration within 1–2 weeks. Skin quality keeps improving for several weeks after your course is complete.

Is it suitable for everyone?

Skin boosters aren't suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active skin infection, or if you're allergic to any of the ingredients (polynucleotides are derived from fish DNA). Some medical conditions also need extra care, so we check your medical history at consultation before every treatment.
